Washi Tape? Washi Tape Ideas.

I went in to Michael’s craft store a few days ago and asked where I might find the washi tape, as I was in a hurry.

Two different Michael’s employees looked at me with a strange face and replied, “washi tape?”

They had never heard of it! Um, do you live under a rock young craft store workers. That is what I felt like saying but instead described it as craft tape hoping it would ring some bells.

Still…nothing.

I did find it on my own in my mad rush for decorative tape.

The male I was with that day had dropped me off while he went to another store and was coming back for me (the reason for my shortest Michael’s experience ever) and he didn’t understand what the heck someone would want decorative tape for, even more so the kind that is Japanese (washi).

I told him that it was decorative tape that you can use on anything. I rhymed off some different washi tape ideas;I said that some people use it in scrapbooks and that some people use it on candles and that I’ve seen it making computer keyboards looking super cute.

He still didn’t seem to understand.

So I decorated his wallet.

I got a few different rolls, they were on sale too so that was awesome. (and kinda made up for the dumb not so informed Michael’s employees)

I must say that I am very excited to use this craft tape on things. Lot’s of things. Here comes a new addiction.
