A few years ago I bought a role of rice paper. I really wanted to make one of those nifty room divider screens.
Never happened.
So here I am still with a whole bunch of rice paper. Over time I’ve made a few different things but while I was dickin’ around recently I came up with this idea below. (I know I’m not the first to do this, I’ve since googled it, but I’m going to show you my version since it’s my blog)
Here are the pics. It’s extremely simple and may not need explaining.
Rice Paper Fall Luminary

Ta Da!
Cute eh?! I plop these luminaries around random places and really enjoy them.
Actually, the device itself would make a superb base for your own luminary creations. You could design the rice paper however you want and set it in the perfect little light up stand.
So maybe my version doesn’t smell nice but I have an essential oil burner for that…and room spray, and scented candles, and one of those wickless candle melters, and a reed diffuser, and plug ins…
Pretty much covered in the aroma department.
DIY fall luminaries can be decorated in a ton of cute ways, would be cute with leaves or wrapped with twine. My example is a crappy green ribbon I had accessible during the writing of this post.
I currently don’t have any others to show because they all wrecked whilst moving living spaces, they are delicate creations, but I love luminaries so much that I will be making more…and updating these hideous pics.
Are you going to cozy up your Autumn atmosphere with any luminaries or fall crafts?
