Recently I took a little road trip during which I listened to music the whole way and I realized something.
Music forces emotions out of you, sucks them out like a bloody vacuum.
You may be thinking, it took her this long to figure that out?
It’s not like I didn’t know about the connection before you silly gooses, what I mean is that it leaves us with not much choice but to feel whatever the song wants us to feel.
Like emotional hijacking.
So…when I’m feeling blue the last thing I want to do is listen to sad or sappy music only to make myself sob like a wounded animal.
Instead I figured out that when I play Katy Perry I can’t help but be in a much lighter mood. I wouldn’t even say that she makes my top ten in fact, not even close, but it works.
I tried this a couple of times.
Emotionally hijacked for sure. But in a fantastic mood!
